England vs France: Raheem Sterling Returns in Quarters-English star to fly to Qatar after home burglary ordeal

England vs France: Raheem Sterling England Squad – England will be handed a major boost with Raheem Sterling scheduled to join the Three Lions squad. The Chelsea forward missed the Last 16 games against Senegal and returned to England after his house was burgled. Reports claim that the English forward is preparing to fly to Qatar to join the team ahead of the England vs France Quarterfinals encounter.

Raheem Sterling excluded himself from the England squad in the Senegal game. He decided to travel back to England to ensure a check on his family after the burglary ordeal. After having gotten his assurances, Sterling is keen on traveling back to Doha.

The English forward got the backing of his England manager. Gareth Southgate provided him with his full support for traveling back to England. The English players too backed their fellow teammates and went on to play the game to seal an emphatic 3-0 win over their African counterparts.

Reports from the Police claimed the 27-year-old England star left the tournament after being told that his home in Surrey had been broken into, with items including jewelry and watches stolen.

His family was not home during the break-in but he wanted to be with them afterward, as he was concerned about their wellbeing.

He headed back to the UK just before England’s win over Senegal on Sunday.

It is believed he is willing to return to Qatar as long as he can be confident his family will be safe, and it has been reported that extra security measures are being worked through.

The Football Association did not give any update on Wednesday but the PA news agency reported that the FA had been given the go-ahead to look at the Chelsea winger’s possible return.

The English players were informed about the burglary before the kickoff of the game.

“He wished us the best yesterday as he was going back and I’ve messaged him and hopefully he will get back to me later – I am just hoping he and his family are okay,” Bukayo Saka told about Sterling.
